An Overview Of Mesothelioma Cancers

Mesothelioma cancer is cancer occurring in the mesothelium tissues. Mesothelium, in general, is the name of the tissues that form the lining of various organs in the body, such as the heart, lungs, abdomen and the reproductive organs.

The lining around the abdominal organs is known as peritoneal membrane. Lining around the lungs is called pleural membrane while the lining around the heart is called pericardium.

The lining of these two functions. Protect the internal organs through the production of a lubricating fluid, and smooth movement of the internal organs. Mesothelioma cancer is cancer that affects the membranes, also include in types of cancer family

The names of the cancers are dependent on the tissue or linings that affect them. Peritoneal mesothelioma, pleural mesothelioma and pericardial mesothelioma are the names of cancer of the lining of the stomach cancer, lungs and heart, respectively.

Pleural mesothelioma is the most common of all types of cancer and mesothelioma is 70% of patients with mesothelioma. Peritoneal mesothelioma is 10% and 20% of patients with mesothelioma third type, while pericardial mesothelioma, is rare.
